Some candidates might be "terrible", "wonderful", "terrific", "amazing", "horrible".... Did these all used to mean something stronger, then get overused into blandness? Maybe so.Eric Schwitzgebelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16274774112862434865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26951738.post-28073126895927557032017-05-14T14:06:18.748-07:002017-05-14T14:06:18.748-07:00I think of it as 'meaning inflation', whic...I think of it as 'meaning inflation', which is basically the same as monetary inflation. The notability of something remarkable reduces over time.

Also I think it comes from wanting to be at the 'high stakes' table. No one wants to be a moderate/at the 'playing for pennies' table - it has to 'suck' or 'be awesome' - no moderate in betweens. Even though the moderate table rarely ever spirals into depression. Perhaps as a specie we're becoming bi-polar?Callan S.https://brokenmarrow.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26951738.post-77584308558700431632017-05-12T08:31:09.400-07:002017-05-12T08:31:09.400-07:00Ha!
