There is yet another aspect: an audiovisual emphasis would seem to alienate the blind and the D/deaf even further, as if they will be the ones without a memory if memory will only be derivative of the audiovisual history. Of course, there will be then interesting differences between the audio and the visual, and recall will depend on the dominance of one of those sensations, and may be technologies will address convertibility of each to the other and policies will fine-tune to the ethical/ rights issues arising out of such entitlements.
